LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Construction is expected to begin in 2026 for a bonsai garden at Louisville's Waterfront Botanical Gardens.
In 2022, officials broke ground on a $22 million Japanese Garden that included a Japanese tea house, a waterfall, lake, stream and bonsai garden.
Renowned Japanese garden landscape designer Shiro Nakane is designing the garden.
According to our partners at Louisville Business First, a construction permit was filed with Louisville Metro Planning and Design Services for the project.Â
Construction is expected to begin in spring 2026 with an opening planned for 2027.
