LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- If you're planning on grabbing a drink at the bar or with dinner these days, you might get some sticker shock with your cocktail.
Drink-flation is happening all over, where prices of drinks are through the roof.
James DeLorenzo was at brunch with a friend when they both decided to order a scotch on the rocks.
"I ordered two Johnny Walkers, and the waitress said do you want red, blue, or black," DeLorenzo said.
He chose blue, as it sounded different, and paid without thinking twice. The next day, he was shocked by the price.
"There was a charge for $110 for the two mixed drinks," DeLorenzo said.
Bourbons and whiskeys can cost hundreds of dollars a bottle due to scarcity.
A bottle of hard to find Pappy Van Winkle bourbon on the secondhand market can cost $2,000.
"$55 for one mixed drink? I've been around the block a few times, and I've never had something like that happen," DeLorenzo said.
If you aren't sure what a drink is going to cost, don't be afraid to ask, that way you don't waste your money.
