LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Universal is just days away from opening their new theme park: Epic Universe.

The new theme park will be a huge draw in Orlando the rest of the year, so can you visit without spending a fortune?

There are travel agents that specialize in finding deals, even some specifically for Universal.

Before you pull out your Universal Studios t-shirt and start packing your suitcase, there are a few simple decisions that can really impact your total bill.

To save money, consider one of the dozen chain hotels nearby. On-site hotels are a bit more expensive, and they can give you special perks that others may not get.

Buy souvenirs outside the park or at home, bring waters with you, and save near $20 a day by buying multi-day passes online in advance.

Later in the year offers some lower prices, so plan your next trip accordingly!
