LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A popular Hawaiian-inspired restaurant chain is preparing to make a big splash across the Louisville area.

Hawaiian Bros Island Grill plans to open eight locations across the greater Louisville market, according to our partners at Louisville Business First. The Kansas City-based fast-casual chain recently signed a development agreement to bring its island-style menu to the region.

While exact locations and opening dates have not been announced, the company said the expansion will be led by an experienced local operator group with more than two decades of restaurant industry experience in the Louisville area.

Known for its Hawaiian-style plate lunches, Hawaiian Bros serves chicken and pork dishes topped with sweet, savory and spicy sauces. Meals are paired with traditional sides including macaroni salad, steamed white rice and vegetables.

The Louisville expansion is part of the brand's continued growth across the country. Hawaiian Bros currently operates more than 75 restaurants in 14 states.

Company leaders told LBF they see Louisville as a strong market for growth, citing the area's thriving business community and vibrant restaurant scene.
