LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The KFC Yum! Center in downtown Louisville is nearing its 15th anniversary, and it's celebrating with some upgrades.
Major improvements are expected, including a new roof, along with long-term strategic planning.
The Louisville Arena Authority will invest an estimated $13.6 million for infrastructure upgrades.
The replacement of the 250,000-square-foot roof is expected to be done by December.
The new roof will be the largest single capital project approved by the LAA.
Deer Park Roofing, a Louisville-based company, is managing the project. Construction has been scheduled around the arena's event calendar to minimize any disruptions.
