LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Lexington is expecting a $10 million economic impact for hosting two NCAA tournament regionals, reported by LEX18

The central Kentucky city will play host to NCAA men's and women's tournament games this March. Both events will be going on at Rupp Arena and Memorial Coliseum on alternating days from Thursday through Sunday.

Louisville men's basketball plays against Creighton on Thursday at 12:15 p.m.

Martina Barksdale with the VisitLex Visitors Center told LEX18 that hotels, restaurants, bars, parking and other experiences are factored into the economic impact estimate.

"This will be an amazing week for Lexington," Barksdale said. "Everybody in the city is working together to make sure we’re prepared,” Barksdale said. “Whether it be the city, local police, down to the hospitality partners at hotels and restaurants so they can be adequately staffed."
