LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Residents in part of Louisville's south end will soon have a new option for groceries.
Officials broke ground Monday on a new 123,000-square-foot Kroger supermarket. It will be located on Beulah Church Road as part of the Beulah Crossing development.
The $40 million project will have a fuel center, pharmacy and drive-thru, a Little Clinic, a wine and spirits shop, a Starbucks and more. It's the latest economic growth near the Highview area.
"This development is bringing good-paying jobs to this area from the construction, to supply chain, to the retail jobs that will be coming," Metro Councilman Jeff Hudson, R-23, said Monday. "This will provide a lot of good-paying jobs in this area and at over a $200 million investment."
The new Kroger is expected to open in the spring of 2026.
