LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A new, 1930s-style bar is coming to southern Indiana, paying homage to the town's history.

Husband-and-wife Craig and Holly Rupprecht plan to open Club Greyhound at 1501 Main Street in Clarksville, underneath the apartment complex Current 812, as reported by our partners at Louisville Business First. The couple decided on the downtown location after the recent redevelopment of the area and the announcement of the new Clockworks development.

"Clarksville is on the precipice of blowing up," Chris Rupprecht, who is also the general manager of Neat Bourbon Bar & Bottle Shop, said.

The new bar will have a vinyl listening room, and is based off the 1930s Clarksville casino with the same name.

The 1930's club, located at the current CC Powersports location, was a place where people could bet on races at the Jeffersonville Greyhound Dog Track.

The new Club Greyhound will feature memorabilia the couple has collected to decorate the bar.

"We want to make it a place where you can come, put the phone down and do some intentional listening, chill and have a good cocktail," Chris Rupprecht told LBF. "Experience-driven retail is really what it is."

The new bar will also feature some vintage items for sale, such as vinyl records and may invite people to sell vintage items on consignment down the road.

The couple plans to invest a total of $400,000 into the new 330 square-foot bar, which is slated to open by the end of 2026 or early 2027, LBF reports.
