LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville is about to get what's being called the "Top Golf" of gun ranges.
The new entertainment venue is going to be called Next Level Ranges, featuring gun ranges, a restaurant, a bar, a store, a place to host parties and training space.
Ground was broken Thursday in Jeffersontown at the corner of Blankenbaker Parkway and Electron Drive.
The building is going to be just shy of 40,000 square feet.
The owners said their goal is to make this gun range stand out and want every person to feel welcome regardless of skill level.
"My goal from the beginning was to make it feel not like you're inside a cave you know looking at it," co-owner Mark Swearingin said. "I wanted a nice feeling. Somewhere where you're comfortable coming in."
There is going to be a restaurant and bar on site, but the owners said there will be a strict tracking policy.
Your license will be scanned if served alcohol and from that point on, you won't be allowed to shoot for the remainder of the day for safety reasons.
The plan is to open Next Level Ranges around September 2024.
