LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new Mexican restaurant catering to late-night crowds plans to open soon in southern Indiana.

According to our partners at Louisville Business First, Leonardo's Mexican Food announced it will open soon on 10th Street in Jeffersonville. The building was previously home to a Kentucky Fried Chicken.

The restaurant's first location is in Indianapolis, but co-owner Jose Vazquez told Business First they've had to do minimal renovations and hope to hold a grand opening in the next two months. The location will have options for dine in, take out or a drive-thru window. The full menu will be available throughout the day, including all-day breakfast.

Vazquez said they'll decide whether the restaurant in Jeffersonville will be open 24/7, like the Indianapolis location, once they gauge interest.

The Vazquez family has been owners of restaurants for nearly 20 years starting in Omaha, Nebraska, he said. His family members own seven other Mexican restaurant locations across the United States.

Vazquez told Business First his restaurants all have the name "Leonardo" in them. In his family, the name "Leonardo" was often given to the firstborn men as their first or middle name. Vazquez said his older brother is named Leonardo. Vazquez's brother-in-law Victor Marquez also has "Leonardo" as his middle name.

"It is a name that has been in our family for generations," he said.

Leonardo's will be located at at 1426 E. 10th St. in Jeffersonville. To visit their website and see their Indianapolis menu, click here
