LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Vermont-based distiller plans to open a new location in downtown Louisville later this year.
WhistlePig Whiskey is an American whiskey brand. The WhistlePig PiggyBank will be located at 403 E. Market Street. It will be located in the former Bank Shot Billiards space, according to a news release.
The venue will offer exclusive tastings, a bar and more. There will also be rare and collectible whiskeys in the old bank's vault.
"After years pushing the boundaries of Rye whiskey, we have a point of view on age and experimental finishing that brings something new to Bourbon," Meghan Ireland, WhistlePig’s Head Blender, said in a news release. "The equal and opposite of our flagship 10 year Rye, Snout-to-Tail Bourbon takes toasted barrel aging to ten with bold flavors and new complexity earned before and after the barrel flip. With honey, brown sugar and toasted cashew on the ‘snout’, roasted almonds and baked cornbread on the sip, and a fresh crust and cedar ‘tail’, it’s a Straight Bourbon Whiskey born to crash the party in Kentucky."
WhistlePig Piggy Bank is expected to open this summer.
