LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The rainy weather didn't stop people from enjoying a fall festival in Louisville on Saturday.

NuLu Business Association hosted the autumn block party on East Market Street. There was live music, regional micro-brewed beers, activities for all ages and numerous food and retail booths by local vendors.

Nauddy Merriweather with Soul Unalome Collective had a booth set up for the first time at NuLu Fest.

"It's actually been a lot busier than I thought it would be considering the weather," Merriweather said. "I think some people thought it would get canceled, but people are out here."

The free public event started at 11 a.m. and went until 10 p.m. The business association holds the event as a celebration of growth and revitalization of Louisville's East Market District.

"It's been wonderful in spite of the weather, we've had a lot of great people come out, support us and support the neighborhood," said Ben Deutsch with Retta's Ice Cream Shop. "It's been lovely."
