LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A longtime NuLu gift shop known for its bold apparel and community-focused space is preparing to close after nearly a decade in business.

According to our partners at Louisville Business First, Louabull will shut down July 26 as its owners relocate to Oregon. The company’s Lexington store, LexTeeTon, will also close.

A going-out-of-business sale featuring 75% off merchandise is now underway at the East Market Street shop.

LBF reported owners Travis Lay and Ren Scheuerman moved to Oregon nearly two years ago and recently reached an agreement to exit their lease, clearing the way for the closure.

Founded in 2016, Louabull became a recognizable NuLu destination, expanding from its original East Main Street location into a larger storefront on East Market Street. Over the years, it drew both local shoppers and visitors from across the country.

The store also became a gathering space for Louisville’s LGBTQ community, adding to its presence beyond retail in the neighborhood.

Louabull’s final day of business is July 26.
