LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB/WAVE) — A new veterinary service is coming to west Louisville to help pet owners who may otherwise be unable to access care.
Pets4Life, a local nonprofit, is opening a new CARE clinic in Parkway Place on South 13th Street, in the Park Hill neighborhood. It is the only veterinary service in the heart of west Louisville, the nonprofit said.
The organization, which has been around for more than a decade, has a mission of meeting people where they are by reducing barriers to access care for their pets. This includes decreased costs on vet bills and helping with transportation to its clinics.Â
"We show up. I guess that’s the best way to say it," said Karen Mujica, Pets4Life Executive Director. "We show up month after month for over two years now. So that’s really allowed us to build trust in the community because they know us. They know our names. They know our faces."
The Pets4Life clinic began its "soft opening" last week. The clinic said it will continue to expand its services as it gathers more resources.
The nonprofit partners with a number of local groups, including Alley Cat Advocates, Spay Anyway, Ethan Almighty and Metro Animal Services. Click here to learn more.
