LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB/WAVE) — Nearly a year after the deadly UPS plane crash forced it to relocate, a Louisville business is opening a new chapter.
Quantum Ink celebrated the grand opening of its new facility on Melton Avenue, just a short distance from where the crash happened near Grade Lane.
The company, which manufactures water-based printing inks, said it lost its building and hundreds of thousands of dollars after the crash, forcing it to relocate and rebuild.
Wednesday's ribbon-cutting marked more than the opening of a new facility, it was a chance to celebrate the company's recovery after months of uncertainty.
The UPS cargo plane crash killed 15 people and disrupted several nearby businesses, including Quantum Ink.
Now operating from its new location, the company says it's looking ahead as it continues serving customers and rebuilding after one of Louisville's most devastating aviation tragedies.
