LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- On Sunday there was a special anniversary for a historic building in Louisville.

The clubhouse at The Women's Club turns 100 this year. It's located on S. Fourth Street in Old Louisville.

To celebrate, there were cocktails and a dinner. It's now on the national register of historic places.

"It was designed specifically to be a mid-sized auditorium for the city of Louisville because at the time many of the auditoriums were either really large or really small," Margaret Young, Women's Club archivist, said.

In the spring, the club will celebrate its small day of grants giving which benefits local nonprofits.
