LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Louisville intercepted a shipment of counterfeit luxury watches worth an estimated $2.57 million, according to a CBP press release.
Officers flagged a parcel from Taiwan on Nov. 17 and found 160 fake Rolex Datejust watches inside.
The shipment was headed to a residence in Houston when officers pulled it for inspection at Worldport, the release said.
"Our CBP officers diligently work to protect honest and hardworking legitimate businesses by targeting and intercepting these fraudulent items," LaFonda D. Sutton-Burke, director of field operations for the Chicago Field Office, said in a news release.
CBP said the Louisville seizure comes amid a spike in counterfeit trafficking. So far in fiscal year 2025, officers have seized nearly 79 million counterfeit items nationwide.
