LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two siblings from Catlettsburg went in together on buying a Kentucky Lottery ticket and came out with $225,000.
Kevin and Kelly Hendrick bought a ticket at Clark's Pump-N-Shop on State Route 3 in Boyd County. After buying a Cash Ball 225 ticket, Kevin found out they had won after their dad called to say he saw the winning numbers while on his iPad.
"He recognized they were the numbers I play all the time," Kevin said to Kentucky Lottery officials.
Kevin went to his truck to get his ticket out of the glove box.
"I looked at it and there it was line number four," Kevin said.
The ticket matched all five numbers from an Oct. 24 drawing. Kevin plays Cash Ball 225 every day and picks his own numbers, using birthdays and anniversaries. He then called his sister.
"She said 'Wow.' It was chin-dropping," Kevin said.
After taxes, the siblings each received $80,442.15. Kevin plans to pay off bills and keep playing.
Clark's Pump-N-Shop will receive $2,250 for selling the winning ticket.
