LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The trial of Louisville businessman and former mayoral candidate Chris Thieneman's has been delayed.

Thieneman was charged with wanton endangerment last September after police say he tried to strangle his girlfriend. Police say Thieneman and the woman were fighting on Brownsboro Road. Thieneman allegedly took her phone and when she left her car in the middle of the road to call for help, she says Thieneman followed and tried to strangle her.

The car was stolen during the fight and was later found abandoned, according to police.

Thieneman was also arrested last month after police say he intimidated his ex-girlfriend. He was accused of taking the doors off of his ex-girlfriend's business, Snap Fitness, leaving it open to the public. According to a warrant, the incident happened in late April at Snap Fitness on Dixie Highway.

Officials on both sides of Thieneman's case are expected to meet on Friday to discuss a new trial date.
