JEFFERSONVILLE, In. (WDRB) -- A Clark County, Ind., Jail employee was arrested Wednesday evening and accused of having sex with a female inmate.

Officials have identified the arrested employee as officer Dalton Warfield, who has worked at the jail for four months.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the inmate admitted to allegations of relations with the officer. Warfield was interviewed just after 6 p.m. Wednesday and admitted to accusations, authorities say.

"Upon interviewing the inmate she admitted to performing oral sex and sex with the corrections officer," said Clark County Sheriff's Office detective Scottie Maples.

The 24-year-old officer is accused of both oral sex and intercourse with same inmate. The officer may have known the inmate before beginning employment with the jail.

"We had some video where we saw the inmate actually coming out of the cell," Maples said. "We have limited video in our facility but we were able to pinpoint a time when she exited the section where females are housed and return back in a short time."

A release from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office says “the female inmate performed oral sex on the officer on two occasions and had sexual intercourse with the male officer on two occasions."

Warfield has been charged with sexual misconduct by a service provider and could face up to six years in prison and a $10,000 fine per count.

Officer Warfield is due in Court in Jeffersonville Friday morning. His bond has been set at $7,500.

The female inmate is in jail for a probation violation. She's been in jail since June 10th. She is not expected to face any additional charges.
