LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The holiday spirit was felt in St. Matthews on Saturday afternoon as those who live there celebrated their community and the holiday season.

Saturday was the annual Light Up St. Matthews, it took place at Brown Park next to Baptist Health Louisville. There was lots of entertainment, letters to Santa and even photos with him, craft stations and train rides.

This year was a little different with more lights and a larger area to enjoy.

"It used to be everything was under one tent," Josh Suiter, with the Chamber of St. Matthews, said. "We've kind of broken it up throughout the park. To see families here and enjoying the new concept and new look really creates a lot of excitement for myself and for our team."

People also enjoyed hot chocolate and free cookies. The lights will stay on until after the New Year.
