LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- When life gives you snow, make an igloo. That's what a group of friends in Connecticut did, adding a splash of color. More than 500 cardboard milk cartons were collected and filled with water and a little food coloring to create the stained glass look you see in the image at right.

Once the bricks were made, it was time for construction.

"I had a five gallon bucket of water and then you would fill the water with snow and the snow would kind of melt into it and make sort of a slurry, like a slush," said Matt Atwater, one of the igloo architects. "And then you could take the slush and sort of slap it on top of the bricks."

Planning for the igloo started last year.

The builders say they are glad it makes people happy, but they probably won't make one next year.
