NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WDRB) -- Plans to turn a vacant New Albany property into luxury housing are moving forward 

The former Coyle Property on Spring Street in New Albany is expected to be turned into upscale apartments and retail space.

On Thursday Mayor Jeff Gahan presented the project to the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and Gov. Mike Pence. The group awarded a $3.3 million credit to the developer.

Construction on the $16 million project is expected to begin in late summer.
