LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville woman reunited Thursday with the paramedics and fire crews that saved her husband's life earlier this year.

Daniel and Michelle Kemper honored crews from the Anchorage-Middletown Fire Department at their station for their response during a medical emergency in March that left Daniel Kemper unresponsive.

Michelle Kemper said she went looking for her neighbor, Alera Gunn, that day for help. Alera Gunn immediately began CPR on Daniel Kemper and called her husband, Noah Gunn, who is a paramedic with Anchorage-Middletown.

When crews arrived, they took over chest compressions and used an AED on the way to the hospital. Because of this, Daniel Kemper was able to recover.

"It's an unbelievable feeling to not only be here, but to see all these heroes in front of me," Daniel Kemper said. "It's unbelievable."

This week is National EMS Week.
