LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- As work continues on Riverside Drive, officials for the town of Clarksville provided an update Tuesday on its $4.5 million Main Street project.
Crews are widening the flood wall opening on Main Street. Leaders said they had to order a $1.5 million 54-foot-wide steel flood gate for the project, which is scheduled to be installed sometime Monday morning using a large crane.
The flood wall is part of a larger project happening along Riverside Drive. Crews are working to add sidewalks, bike paths, crosswalks, street parking, and lighting to improve the Ohio River Greenway that connects Jeffersonville, Clarksville and New Albany.
The revitalization project started in February. The construction zone stretches from the entrance of Ashland Park to the Clarksville/Jeffersonville border. Construction is expected to wrap in November.
