LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A male is dead and another was hospitalized after a double shooting in Louisville's Algonquin neighborhood.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter call in the 1600 block of Brashear Drive around 1:15 a.m. Thursday, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a statement. That call was later updated to a reported shooting.

Once on scene, officers found two males that had been shot about a block away from each other.

One of the victims, whose age is unknown at this time, died at the scene, Mitchell said.

The second victim was transported to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating, but has no suspects.
