LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is dead and another is in the hospital after a shooting at a business in the Iroquois neighborhood on Saturday night, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said police responded to a shooting in the 4400 block of Taylor Boulevard, near Southern Parkway, around 8:56 p.m. at a business.
When police arrived on scene, they found two men shot inside the business. Both men were taken to University of Louisville Hospital by EMS.
One man died from his injuries a short time after arriving at the hospital. The other man was alert and conscious with injuries that appear to be non-life-threatening, according to Ellis.
The man who died was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office on Sunday as 21-year-old Dion Smith Jr. of Louisville.
LMPD's Homicide Unit will be handling the investigation.
Ellis said in an update Sunday morning that 18-year-old Gage Lewis of Louisville was arrested and initially charged with murder.
According to court documents, police used surveillance footage to identify Lewis.
