LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 29-year-old man is facing murder charges after police said he shot and killed a woman last month.
Richard Goodman, 29, was arraigned Thursday morning on a murder charge. He pleaded not guilty. The judge set his bond at $250,000. Â
Louisville Metro Police said on Feb. 18 officers responded to a home on Sydney Renee Way to check on the well-being of a resident.
The home is in a neighborhood off Dixie Highway near West Orell Road.
When officers arrived, they found Kylee Miller, 21, dead inside. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said she died from multiple gunshot wounds. Â
He's expected to be arraigned Thursday.
Goodman was arrested Wednesday in connection to the murder. According to court documents, Goodman was was with the victim hours before she was killed.
Miller's vehicle was also found on fire in a field in a different part of Louisville. Detectives used cellular data to determine that Goodman was in the area of the car fire.
Police said Goodman also had a phone call with an inmate at Metro Corrections where he said "she drank six 40s" and "if she still awake after drink six 40s, godd*****, she's a damn animal."
The phone call took place before police had discovered the body. Detectives then determined the victim was shot multiple times in the back of the head and found 40 caliber casings at the scene.
Goodman is facing murder and felony gun possession charges.
