LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A third person was arrested in connection with the murder of a Louisville jail officer.

According to Louisville Metro Police, Brian Ramsey, 40, was arrested Wednesday evening on charges of complicity to murder and complicity to robbery in the death of Michael Wehdah, an officer at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.

According to court records, Ramsey was indicted on the charges on Nov. 18 and arrested on a warrant.

Wehdah was found shot to death in the 2700 block of Cedar Street in the city's Russell neighborhood Feb. 16.

Ramsey is the third suspect to be arrested in the case. Anthony Trabue, 36, was arrested March 27 and charged with murder in the shooting death of Wehdah. Trabue was arrested after a brief standoff with police.

Trabue's arrest came days after the first suspect arrested in the case was arraigned. Kristy Brumley, 35, was arrested March 25 on a charge of complicity to murder.

Brumley admitted to LMPD officers she was involved in his murder, according to an arrest citation. She told police she brought Wehdah to the location where the shooting occurred and "was present when the victim was shot by a known co-defendant."

She told police she took Wehdah's car and phone "for the purpose of concealing and or destroying evidence."

The judge also said Brumley had several outstanding warrants in Pulaski County and at least one in Jefferson County.

Both Brumley and Trabue were given $250,000 cash bonds. They have since bonded out of jail. Both are set to appear in court Jan. 20 for pretrial conferences.

Wehdah, a Liberian immigrant who gained citizenship in the U.S. in 2022, lived Louisville with his wife and teenage son. He enrolled in the Louisville Metro Corrections Academy in August of last year and officially became an officer in November.

LMPD Lt. Les Skaggs said Wehdah went to work at LMDC at 6 a.m. Saturday. He returned home sometime after 3 p.m. that same day. It's not clear whether the motive of the shooting is related to his job at the jail, investigators said.
