LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police are investigating after a 51-year-old man was shot and killed near the Park Duvalle neighborhood on Tuesday morning.
LMPD spokesman Aaron Ellis said officers were called to the 3500 block of Bells Lane just after midnight on a reported shooting.
When they arrived, they found a man outside the home with a gunshot wound. EMS and Louisville Fire were called to the scene, and the man was pronounced dead there.
Lapriest Maddox was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office Tuesday afternoon. He died from a gunshot.
LMPD's Homicide Unit is handling the investigation. Ellis said detectives are working to learn what led up to the shooting and what a possible motive could be.
There are no suspects.
