LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A seven-year-old is in critical condition and a 13-year-old is also in the hospital after the two were hit by a car in the Jacobs neighborhood on Saturday afternoon, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD responded to a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle in the 3600 block of Parthenia Avenue around 3:25 p.m. Police said a car was going at high speeds when it hit a child and teenager who were on the street.
According to police, the driver, Katherine Hall, 19, stopped and then continued to drive away.

LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said EMS took both children to Norton Children's Hospital.
Ellis said the boy, who appears to be a seven-year-old, is in the hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. The girl, who appears to be a 13-year-old, has what police believe are non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, Hall and the vehicle were found not far from the scene by an off-duty Jefferson County Sheriff's deputy.
A neighbor who lives near the intersection said cars driving too fast in the area is a frequent issue.
"They run that stop sign daily doing 40 or 50 miles an hour, they don't care," Liddy Cleary said. "They don't miss them, they intentionally run them, that's the problem."
Hall was arrested and charged with assault, failure of owner to maintain required insurance and leaving the scene of an accident, among other charges. She was booked into Louisville Metro Department of Corrections on Saturday evening.
No others vehicles were involved in the crash.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
