LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a child was injured in a shooting near Louisville's Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood Monday evening.
Officers responded to the reported shooting around 9:30 p.m. in the 6500 block of Maravian Drive, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis. That's off Santa Fe Trail near the Greenbelt Highway.
Once on scene, police found a boy—believed to be 8 years old—who had been shot in the shoulder, Ellis said. Officers gave the boy first aid until EMS arrived and transported the child to Norton Children's Hospital in downtown Louisville.
Ellis said the boy was was alert and conscious while being taken to the hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating, but has no suspects and has made no arrests.
