LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A traffic stop in southern Indiana last week led to the seizure of several stolen guns and the arrest of an adult and seven juveniles.

According to a news release and a post on the Clarksville Police Department's Facebook page, it happened July 16 on Brown Station Way as the truck was apparently headed to New Albany.

An officer parked on North Clark Boulevard saw the truck headed west at a high rate of speed and radioed other officers in the area to be on the lookout. Another officer parked at Emery Crossing clocked the truck doing 63 in a 45 mph zone, according to the probable cause affidavit.

An officer said he reached speeds of 90 mph while trying to catch up to the truck, and noticed the driver watching him in his side view mirror and that he appeared to be trying to evade officers as he continued into New Albany and made "an evasive right turn onto Cost Avenue" before it stopped in front of the Spring Manor apartments.

As an officer approached the truck, he noticed four people in the front seat of the single cab truck (which only has three seats), according to the PCA. Another four people were found in the bed of the pickup truck, prompting a call for backup "as officers were extremely outnumbered."

During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered several firearms, including a handgun reported stolen during a carjacking in Shelbyville, Ky. Police also seized an AR-15 pistol with no serial numbers; a handgun with an altered serial number; a handgun with a 3D printed lower frame with no identifying numbers; an extended magazine; and two BB guns that resemble real guns.

The driver of the vehicle, Cris Badillo, 21, was arrested and charged with seven counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, reckless driving with endangerment, and neglect of a dependent, according to the release.

The seven minors—who were between the ages of 16 and 17—were arrested and charged with obliterating identification marks on a firearm, theft of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of marijuana. At least two of the juveniles had guns in their waistbands, when they were arrested.

All of the juveniles were wearing black hoodies or long-sleeve jackets along with "Sheisty" face masks. One of the minors also had a "5 point crown" tattoo on his neck, commonly seen on members of the Latin Kings gang.

Badillo told officers at the scene he had picked up the juveniles from several locations in Indiana the previous night and early morning, and that they have been "friends for a very long time."

The seven juveniles were arrested at the scene and taken to the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.

Officers from New Albany, Indiana State Police, and the Clark County Sheriff's Department assisted with the arrests.

Badillo was taken to the Clark County Jail in Jeffersonville and released from custody after posting a $500 bond, according to court records. His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 13.
