Former Lexington pastor indicted by grand jury on rape, sexual abuse charges

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Fayette County, Kentucky, grand jury indicted a former Lexington pastor on rape and sexual abuse charges.

Zachary King, 47, a former executive pastor at LexCity Church, was arrested back in July. He is accused of raping and sexually abusing a teenager.

According to an arrest citation, King admitted to detectives that he started having sex with a 15-year-old girl in January 2023 up until April 2024.

King told detectives he had sex with the minor at her home, his home and at LexCity Church.

King resigned from the church after being confronted by staff.
