Former Oldham County teacher indicted on dozens of sex charges

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A former teacher at Oldham County High School has been indicted on dozens of sex charges related to allegations that she had sex with a student several times on school property.

According to court documents, an Oldham County grand jury issued the indictments on Friday. Haley Reed, age 34, was indicted on 15 counts of first-degree engaging in an unlawful transaction with a minor, 10 counts third-degree rape and five counts of third-degree sodomy.

Police say she had sex with a student eight times on school property, between April 25 and June 1.

Shortly after her arrest in June, Oldham County Schools released a statement on Reed's arrest last week:

"District administrators are aware of the charges against a teacher at Oldham County High School. We are cooperating with police during this investigation and the teacher will have no further contact with students for the remainder of the year.
Further questions on the investigation should be directed to the Oldham County Police Department."

A spokesperson for the Oldham County Schools district said Wednesday that Reed is no longer employed there.
