LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Investigators with Indiana State Police teamed up with the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children taskforce to launch "Operation Guardian Angel."
The initiative started as students began returning to school in August 2025, according to a news release from ISP. The primary goal: step up investigations involving the sharing of explicit files and undercover (UC) chat investigations.
So far, the operation has resulted in 252 investigations from citizen complaints or cyber tips. A total of 2,233 tips were received in August, compared to 16,124 tips between January and August.
The investigation has also identified 14 hands-on offenders, and 48 total arrests. Of those arrested, six were registered sex offenders.
At least 14 children have been rescued from on-going abuse, and 31 victims were identified with images.
