LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An intoxicated woman was arrested after fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run at an elementary school in Oldham County last week, according to police.
According to court documents, police responded to a report of a hit-and-run in the parking lot of Goshen Elementary School during student car pool at 3:25 p.m. May 14. A witness told police that Caitlin Hall sideswiped her vehicle after picking up her child. Hall, 41, then tried to elude the witness in the neighborhood but stopped. She was arrested on Albrecht Drive, near the elementary school.
According to police, Hall was driving with a 6-year-old child in the back passenger seat. Police said she didn't have her driver's license or proof of insurance. Police said Hall's speech was slurred, and her answers weren't forthcoming.
Police said her eyes were glossy and dilated. According to court documents, Hall told police she had recently been released from a rehab facility and was on prescribed medications. She didn't tell police what those medications were.
Hall refused a field sobriety test, police said. According to court documents, police detected an odor of alcohol when she left the vehicle.
Hall was charged with leaving the scene of an accident — failure to render aid or assistance and public intoxication, among other charges.
Oldham County Schools said the arrest did not occur on school property.
