LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man's blood alcohol content level was more than four times the legal limit when he was arrested in connection to a fatal hit-and-run on the Outer Loop over the weekend.

Michael Dahl, 37, is facing several charges, including murder, leaving the scene of an accident, and DUI.

According to an arrest citation, the hit-and-run happened just after 9 p.m. Saturday in the 7700 block of the Outer Loop. That's in Highview, not far from South Watterson Trail and Fegenbush Lane.

Police said Dahl was headed east on the Outer Loop when his vehicle ran off the south side of the road and hit a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was transported to University Hospital in critical condition where she later died. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified her on Tuesday morning as Crystal Daniel, 45, of Louisville.

A witness is cited in the arrest report saying Dahl fled the scene "at a high rate of speed." The same witness captured the hit-and-run on a dash camera, and was able to get Dahl's registration plate numbers as he fled the scene.

A short time later, police said Dahl's vehicle was involved in another crash in the 8300 block of Johnson School Road. That's off Beulah Church Road, less than three miles away from the fatal hit-and-run.

Police said Dahl ran off the road and hit a tree head-on. Once at that scene, police found Dahl slumped over inside the vehicle.

According to his arrest citation, Dahl told police "he was depressed and had been drinking alcohol all day."

He was taken to University Hospital with minor injuries. A search warrant was obtained for blood samples and medical records from the hospital's lab, according to the arrest slip. His toxicology report showed a B.A.C. of .342, which is more than four times the legal limit.

Dahl was released from the hospital a short time later and booked into Metro Corrections in downtown Louisville, charged with murder, leaving the scene of an accident, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

A judge set Dahl's bond at $100,000 cash during his arraignment Monday morning. He's scheduled to be back in court next week for a hearing.
