LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville Metro Police officer was taken to the hospital after a crash Tuesday afternoon on Dixie Highway in Pleasure Ridge Park.
LMPD Sgt. Matt Sanders said a marked police vehicle was responding with lights and sirens northbound on Dixie Highway around 4:18 p.m. The police vehicle was hit while driving through an intersection in the 6600 block of Dixie Highway, near Lowers Hunters Trace.
People who witnessed the crash told police another driver in an SUV hit the officer's vehicle. The officer was taken to the hospital with head and neck pain.
Sanders said the driver of the SUV was cited for not having insurance. LMPD's Third Division is investigating the crash.Â
