LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Detectives with the Louisville Metro Police Department are investigating after a person was sent to the hospital after being injured during a vehicle theft in the Hurstbourne Acres neighborhood.

The theft happened around 9 p.m. Thursday, according to an LMPD news release. That's when officers from LMPD's Sixth Division were sent to the 1900 block of Wesley Ave on a report of a stolen vehicle. That's in a neighborhood near the intersection of Taylorsville Road and Hurstbourne Parkway.

Investigators determined that, "during the course of the victim's vehicle being stolen, the victim sustained injuries and was transported to University Hospital for treatment."

The victim's injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to the news release. Police did not include a description of the suspect.

It's the second time in two days that a violent crime happened in the neighborhood. An elderly Hurstbourne Acres resident was raped and robbed during a home invasion Wednesday afternoon

The victim told police it happened after she answered a knock at her front door around 2:30 p.m. That's when a man forced his way into the house, knocked her down and raped her, according to court documents.

The LMPD sex crimes unit is investigating that case. The suspect is described as a thin, 5-foot-10-inch Black man with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and either jeans or blue pants.
