LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police in Jeffersontown are investigating after a triple shooting early Friday morning left one person dead and two others hospitalized.
It happened at 1:21 a.m. in the 9900 block of Taylorsville Road, near Grand Avenue, according to a news release from Jeffersontown Police. Officers who arrived at the scene found a man and two women with gunshot wounds.
The man died at the scene, and the women were taken to UofL Hospital in critical condition. The man who died was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 22-year-old Aljay Williams.
Police said the shooting happened during an argument at an apartment complex and was "not a random shooting." Police also said all parties involved know each other.
A woman who lives near the shooting scene said she fears for her safety as well as the safety of everyone in the neighborhood.
"The city has got to do something to save -- it might not be a nursing home, but it's just like one," Louann Speare said. "And we can't get away from bullets."
There have been no reports of arrests in the case at this time, but anyone with information is asked to call 502-267-0503 to speak with Jeffersontown Police Sgt. Richard Burns or email crimetips@jtownkypd.org.
