LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana man was arrested Sunday on felony child molestation and exploitation charges stemming from a tip to police.

Indiana State Police arrested Waylon J. Schlichtkrull, 37, of Madison, on Dec. 31, the same day investigators received a tip from an individual who said they discovered evidence of child molestation and exploitation by Schlichtkrull, according to a news release.

ISP said detectives conducted an investigation, which included a search warrant served in rural Jefferson County, Indiana.

It's unclear what was found, but investigators said they believe Schlichtkrull "engaged in sexual contact with a juvenile female on multiple occasions" in Jefferson County, ISP said.

Police said Schlichtkrull was later seen driving a vehicle in the area and was arrested after a traffic stop "without incident." He was preliminarily charged with child molestation and child exploitation, both felony charges, and booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

ISP said the investigation remains ongoing.
