LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was arrested after police found an alleged "torture chamber" at a home in London, Kentucky.

Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officials said Scottie Shelton, 53, had served as an informant for the Drug Enforcement Administration due to his alleged ties to the Eastern Kentucky drug trade.

Agents visited him earlier this month and found an odd smell coming from a white sheet metal building. In an affidavit obtained by FOX 56, a special agent described "a strong and pungent odor" similar to that of a "decaying corpse."

After requesting a welfare check, investigators searched the area and found decaying wildlife carcasses and a homemade jail cell on the second story of the building, with handcuffs, rope and several guns.

Officers also found 6,000 oxycodone pills and more than 1,000 grams of meth. Human remains were also found in a dirt pile.

Shelton told authorities a man brought "Indian remains" to his property and buried them there.

He faces 24 counts of illegal taking of wildlife and several drug distribution charges.
