LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed another man at Ford's Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville Friday morning, according to police.

Officers were called to the plant on Chamberlain Lane around 8 a.m. on a reported stabbing that happened earlier in the day, Louisville Metro Police Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a statement.

Once on scene, police determined two men had gotten into an "altercation" when Yosvani Gonzales Diaz, 28, allegedly stabbed the other man.

The man who was stabbed was taken to University of Louisville Hospital "by private means," not via ambulance, and was released. The extent of his injuries is unknown.

Mitchell said the two men are not Ford employees, but "independent contractors that work in the plant."

Gonzales Diaz was taken into custody Friday evening on an assault charge and taken to Metro Corrections in downtown Louisville. His mug shot is not yet available at this time because he has not been officially booked into the jail.

LMPD is still investigating the incident. This story will be updated when a photo of Gonzales Diaz becomes available.

Ford released this statement in response to the incident Friday:

"Safety is Kentucky Truck Plant’s top priority. We are grateful for the quick response from our medical team and for the collaboration of the Louisville Police Department."
