LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death inside an apartment at an Old Louisville senior living facility Friday afternoon.

Officers were called to the 1200 block of South Third Street around 2 p.m. to help EMS after a person was reported down inside an apartment at the Hillebrand House, according to Louisville Metro Police Department Spokesperson Aaron Ellis.

Property owners met police at the scene and took them up to the apartment where a man was found with a gunshot wound, Ellis said. EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene, and LMPD's Homicide Unit was called to investigate. 

Investigators are working to determine what led up to the shooting and what a possible motive might be, but have no known suspects and have made no arrests.
