LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville's health department will investigate complaints of mice at another local Kroger location as a previously investigated location showed "increased" rodent activity.

Inspectors will visit the store on Westport Road after receiving a complaint Thursday about mouse droppings and chewed-through products.

This comes about a week after a live mouse was found at the store on Brownsboro Road near the Gene Snyder, along with mice droppings and some chewed-through product.

In a follow-up inspection of the store, a spokesperson for the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health said inspectors "observed great progress."

The spokesperson said progress was also observed during follow-up inspections of the store on Goss Avenue and the Holiday Manor location. Both stores had received complaints of mouse droppings and chewed-through product.

The stores were ordered to close aisles where droppings were found for cleaning and sanitization.

The health department spokesperson said Thursday a follow-up inspection at the Kroger on La Grange Road, which had also received complaints of mice, revealed "increased" mouse droppings.

The store was ordered to close several aisles to clean and sanitize. They were also ordered to look for places around the store where the mice could be harboring. The spokesperson said the aisles will stay closed until the health department's next follow-up inspection.

Kroger has said it is continuing to work with the health department to resolve the issues. The company has not yet responded to a request for comment Thursday about the latest complaints.

Health inspectors said they've received about 200 complaints about Louisville grocery stores, and about 60 of those were from Kroger stores.

Health inspectors said about 20 of those complaints were rodent issues.
