LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville's health department is investigating another Kroger store after evidence of rodents.

The city's health department confirmed inspectors found evidence of mice at Kroger's Holiday Manor Shopping Center location last week, announced Monday.

Louisville's health department previously said it received complaints about a Kroger store on La Grange Road in eastern Jefferson County on May 5, June 6 and June 9. Each time the health department investigated, no live mice were found, but some mouse droppings were located. The Goss Avenue Kroger was temporarily closed because of a rodent infestation as well.

The health department told Kroger "to thoroughly clean and sanitize affected areas and to continue with their pest control provider," who comes to the store two to three times a week. Officials also told the store to find and close any openings where the mice may be coming from.

The Holiday Manor location has been ordered to do the same.

On Monday, some shelves were empty at the Holiday Manor Kroger.

"We have issued an order to close down affect isles to remove all the products from the shelves," said Mya Aung with Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness. "Break down the shelving to eliminate rodents in any way they may be harboring."

Health inspectors said they've received about 200 complaints about Louisville grocery stores, and about 60 of those were from Kroger stores.

Health inspectors said about 20 of those complaints were rodent issues.

Peyton Snider said the shops at the store in Holiday Manor Shopping Center weekly.

"It makes me want to go somewhere else if there's rats and mice running around," Snider said.

The Goss Avenue Kroger in Louisville reopened last week after it closed because of a rodent infestation found in three aisles, including bread and pasta products.

But the rodent evidence won't keep some shoppers away.

"I'm going to die before rodents get me," said Marvin Stick. "I'm not concerned at all. At my age you go to the doctor and you go to Kroger."

While the two Kroger stores got "A" ratings on their last inspections, the health department said that's for areas where food is handled and prepared, such as the deli and meat counters.
