LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting Monday morning in Pleasure Ridge Park.
According to Louisville Metro Police, officers responded at 9:13 a.m. to a report of a shooting in the 7800 block of St. Andrews Church Road.
Police said a man was taken to a local hospital by private means. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
In an update, LMPD said Perry Jones Jr. was arrested in connection with the shooting.
According to court documents, police spoke with a woman in the hospital parking lot who said Jones began shooting at her car while she was picking up the father of her child.
Police said the man was shot in the foot. The victim told police he saw Jones, armed with an AR-style pistol, fire six rounds in his direction.
Jones was charged with assault, wanton endangerment and firearms discharge prohibited because the shooting happened within 300 feet of a public roadway and a building capable of being occupied.
Jones is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
