LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man who was indicted on a murder charge after stabbing a resident of a Louisville retirement community died in prison.
Kenneth Muse, 73, was charged with murder after court records indicate he stabbed Brenda Kemp around 5 a.m. at the Friendship House at 960 S. 4th St. in Old Louisville in May.
Muse was indicted by a grand jury on one count of murder in July.
Investigators said Muse was staying with Kemp when he allegedly stabbed her. They said he called 911 to confess before running away.
Muse was last being held at Green River Correctional Complex as of Sept. 20, according to court documents.
Jefferson County Circuit Judge Eric Haner dismissed the indictment with an order on Nov. 22 -- the same day he was scheduled to appear in court for the murder.
