LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A local police K-9 is receiving national recognition for his good work on the job.
Bane, of the Mt. Washington Police Department, won third place in the Protecting K9 Heroes K9 of the Year contest.
Bane joined the department in October 2019 as its first-ever K-9 officer. He's a German Shepherd trained to find drugs anywhere and everywhere.
As part of his reward, his unit gets $50 and a Kong Pet Toy variety pack.
